... but I now have a working radio in my car! Damn does it feel good knowing that the 600 miles trip I’ll do this week will be done in music. :)
Cheapest one I could find. For now, I only have the rear speakers that work though, but hey, it’s definitely better than nothing :)

This is in the RX-7 right? Too modern looking radios in vintage cars are one of my pet peeves. I myself would have bought some cheap 80’s radio (with cassette deck so that I could play music from usb stick).

Doesn’t the car have a 13B to pleasure your ears?

Much rarer than that... A 12A Turbo. It came out in 1984 and 1985 in Japan only. Quite a unicorn :)

I did but it broke down... So fuck it, I bought a new one without too many flashing lights. It’s daily driver afterall :)

Oh! I didn’t know that 12A lived so long. My friend has left his loose 12A (from N/A RX-7) laying in my garage.
You shouldn’t need any stereo system with a Wankel engine.

Daily driver and I regulary do 600+ miles trips. A radio is nice when you are stucked on the freeway for 8 to 10 hours in a day...
And yes 13b were only available on Rx7s in the US, not in Japan where it kept the 12A. The 13b was 130hp while a stock Turbo 12A is 165hp. Mine is a bit more powerful than that, around 185/190hp.

Nice, this one actually looks classy and useful. So many aftermarket radios have really bright green/blue neon lights and flashing things. Or really weird looking buttons. A subdued dark color always looks way better like this. I particularly like the look of a stock radio (as my anti-theft method) but yeah I definitely cannot live without AUX in.

As someone who didn't have a radio for 2 years I care a lot. Good job!

Last year around april, I took the headunit out of my Miata to put in my MINI. Then I broke the MINI and took 15 months to fix it. I never moved the radio back to the Miata for those 15 months.
